A unique destination in one of the most beautiful areas of British Columbia, West Coast Wilderness Lodge is an easy forty minute float plane ride or three hour ferry trip and drive from downtown Vancouver.
By Car & Ferry (3 hours):
The trip from Vancouver to the village of Egmont on the Sunshine Coast is a simple, scenic route.
The ferry crossing from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale is a quick 40 minutes and passes through Howe Sound, one of B.C.’s famous fjords. Click here for the schedule.
Your ferry ride ends in the town of Gibsons, which boasts a lively seaside harbour. From here, it is an hour-and-a-half drive to our resort.
Sechelt, a half hour from Gibsons, has some excellent lunchtime restaurants and artisan shops. Sechelt means “land between two waters” and is the isthmus that connects the rest of the Sunshine Coast peninsula to the mainland. An excellent quick stop during your trip is at Sechelt’s Porpoise Bay.
As you continue north, the road passes through quaint Pender Harbour to Egmont. Craggy bluffs with lichen, moss and Arbutus pass by on your right and to your left, the panoramic Strait of Georgia. Ruby Lake is another great stop to catch the afternoon sun on a sandy beach, just before you turn off to the tiny village of Egmont.
Traveling By Bus (3.5 hours):
Sunshine Coast Connector offers passenger service between Vancouver and Powell River, BC. Guests coming to West Coast Wilderness Lodge will need to book their ticket over the phone with the bus company as the Egmont stop is by special request only.
