Hiring process

Our Lodge Managers will begin reviewing applications and contacting suitable applicants for interviews in the late fall. We appreciate all applications, however only qualified applicants will be contacted.

Lodge Positions

Our available positions are for seasonal employment. We’re seeking applicants who are available to work our entire season (May to mid-October), but this is not a requirement in all cases.

Event & Wedding Planner

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with proven client service skills to join our team in delivering world-class experiences to our guests.

We prefer event experience, however, we are prepared to train the right candidate for the position.

This position is full-time from May through October, and part-time/remote November through April each year. The ideal candidate is located on the Sunshine Coast, but all qualified applicants will be considered.

As an Event Planner you…

  • Serve as the main point of contact for wedding and event clients
  • preferably have experience in a hotel/resort, golf course or restaurant environment
  • preferably have experience in restaurant service and management
  • are a warm and welcoming hospitality professional. You genuinely enjoy creating special experiences
  • can work independently with a high degree of personal responsibility and integrity
  • are experienced with online planning systems or project management solutions, POS systems and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • have the ability to multitask under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • are detail oriented with a focus on accuracy in your work
  • can be flexible/ adaptable to changing schedules and routines
  • have a positive attitude and enjoy working with a variety of staff
  • have an interest in design

Restaurant Manager

We are seeking a dedicated hospitality professional to manage day-to-day restaurant operations at Inlets. You have a passion for exceptional guest experience and service! You also pride yourself on creating a positive environment for staff.

Duties include:

  • Guest relations
  • Staff training, scheduling and management
  • Working with the Lodge management team on menu development, event delivery and revenue management
  • Oversight of restaurant operations, cleaning and maintenance

Front Desk Agent

Our Front Desk Agents work with guests to create and book a variety of custom Lodge experiences. FD Agents understand hospitality and the importance of offering our guests a warm and personal experience. You are organized, detail-oriented, and great at multi-tasking under pressure. Previous experience with a variety of booking systems and the Microsoft Office suite is preferred. Previous experience in resorts or events is an asset.

Housekeepers

Housekeepers are responsible for the cleanliness of guest rooms, hallways, and public areas in the hotel. Responsibilities include: servicing guest rooms daily in accordance with hotel procedures, stocking cart with room supplies, and replacing bed linens and replenishing guest room supplies. This position requires strong attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members, and the ability to bend, lift up to 40lbs and be standing or walking all day.

Tour Boat Captain

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with proven skills to join our team in delivering world-class day tour experiences for our guests on the water.

As a Boat Captain you…

  • enjoy sharing the natural beauty and history of British Columbia with lodge guests
  • have knowledge of and love for the wildlife, plants and waterways
  • assemble & check required supply levels and equipment pre and post tour
  • conduct passenger orientations
  • ensure guests adhere to tour rules and safety procedures throughout the experience
  • obey all marine regulations regarding safe vessel operation around marine wildlife
  • conduct reporting and record keeping as required
  • uphold agreed upon operations procedures and the lodge staff code of conduct
  • are presentable, calm and reliable
  • have strong problem solving skills and mechanical aptitude

Certifications

  • Kayak guiding experience and a willingness to conduct kayak tours is an asset
  • Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) or higher certification
  • Small Domestic Vessel-Basic Safety (SDV-BS formerly called MED A3).
  • Restricted Operator Certificate-Maritime (ROC-M)
  • Radio Operators Certificate Marine
  • Transport Canada approved Marine First Aid

Kayak Guide

As a Kayak Guide you…

  • are flexible/adaptable to changing schedules and routines
  • have established guiding experience and/or applicable training and certifications
  • can perform open water kayak rescue
  • maintain a high level of physical fitness

Line Cooks

Our line cooks are responsible for the preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary and consistent manner. Line Cooks must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment while maintaining the organizational ability to identify and act on job duties quickly and effectively. Line cooks work as a team member in a dynamic workplace, follow all safety procedures, and have a high threshold for heat in a kitchen environment. You also appreciate presentation and take pride in your plating.

Kitchen Assistant/Dishwasher

Essential members of any restaurant staff, kitchen assistants/dishwashers are not only responsible for making sure service ware is spotless, but they must also keep the kitchen clean and clear of hazardous clutter. You will also assist the Executive Chef with a variety of tasks as needed. Some previous prep experience is preferred.

Bartenders

As a Bartender you are…

  • experienced with restaurant and bar service, preferably in a resort or hotel environment
  • SIR certified
  • delivering special dining experiences! Guest service is our priority!
  • knowledgeable with POS systems. Experience with Lightspeed is an asset
  • comfortable working a variety of shifts (breakfast, lunch, happy hour, dinner, weddings)
  • equipped with comprehensive knowledge of all menu items (training provided)
  • presentable, clean, punctual and dependable
  • responsible for cleaning, stocking and organizing equipment as required
  • someone who enjoys working with a team and bring a positive attitude to work
  • flexible to “pitch in” wherever needed

Servers

As a Server you are…
